What were the Toughest Challenges and How did I solve them?
This whole game was challenge from the start because I had so many ideas of executing the game but a lot of them fell through and I pretty much had to go with my final design. The reason this happened was because it was very hard to find an unwrapped or flat versions of each planet and which I was like okay this is not good. I decided to keep it kid friendly and found a royalty free picture of all the planets in the solar system in cartoon version so the kids could be entertained. Another problem that annoyed me the most was when I tried working on it at home the scripts would not load over or the scenes would not load over so it was very hard to work at home and I had to pretty much do everything at school. Which sucked because I did not have a lot of time to do it. In the end I was able to get everything to come together. Lastly the biggest challenge for me were writing the scripts because a lot of the scripts in this game I found online because at the time I did not know how to write certain scripts and relied on the internet to help. When I transferred them over it became very challenging to adjust and fix everything because I did not know what was connected to what. The way I solved this was by pretty much retracing my steps and starting from the basics which helped me a lot because I was able to do some scripts I wanted to but then there were some scripts that I had to remove from the project. In the end I was happy from the result of the game and now know there is a lot for me to learn and improve on.
What did I learn from this Game?
I pretty much learned from this game that it is very tough to create a game by yourself. I am give a lot of credit to those that are able to create games by themselves. I am very happy with the game I created and I know there is a lot more for me to learn and improve on. For instance, I need to improve on my C# script writing a little more and then I need to learn more about scripts and game techniques that I can add into any game I make in the future.
